Located at 130 East 82nd St., The Moise Safra Community Center is a 12-story, 100,000 s/f multipurpose facility serving the New York young Sephardic Community. This project will include a range of amenities such as a wellness center with spa, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a basketball court, a sports complex and a banquet hall with an outdoor terrace for seating.
This project is currently at the 7th floor, with a crane scheduled for the 8th and 9th mezzanine floors. The next crane pick includes two 60-ft. custom girder beams weighing 750 lbs. per foot, which are being fabricated in Canada. This project, being less than 50 ft. from the Lexington subway line, requires detailed coordination with the MTA for periodic tunnel inspections. The custom design building envelope, including curtain wall, terracotta, limestone, and security features which are being delivered to the site ready for installation after an extensive coordination with the design team.
A major highlight of this project in-cluded a coordinated effort to achieve an excavation depth of 30 ft. for the foundation and 40 ft. for the pool, with five neighboring buildings. Inspiron, along with the engineering team, cre-ated a temporary shoring platform for a party wall that involved relieving the load of the neighboring building and repairing existing columns.
